A short film by Thomas Fransson after our move to Hanögatan 5 in Malmö Sweden

Our first video called ‘Dude! It tastes like magic!’ was created in 2014 by Ro-ki under the directing duo Kristoffer Gezelius and Alexander Germundsson.

A short film by Thomas Fransson after we moved to our new location at Hanögatan 5 in Malmö Sweden in July 2020

The very first Hoppapalooza in 2014. We are the organizers of  this incredible craft beer festival.  A small underground style craft beer festival with only small, independent, local breweries.  We also have local bands playing live music & local food. The event is to bring awareness to the local craft beer industry in southern Sweden. This video was created in 2014 by Ro-ki under the directing duo Kristoffer Gezelius and Alexander Germundsson.

This was a trailer used to promote the first Hoppapalooza in 2014. In the video, what you actually see is the one year anniversary of South Plains Brewing Company. That anniversary party launched the idea of the Hoppapalooza festival. This video was created in 2014 by Ro-ki under the directing duo Kristoffer Gezelius and Alexander Germundsson.

A recap of the 2016 Hoppapalooza festival. This video was created in 2017 by Ro-ki under the directing duo Kristoffer Gezelius and Alexander Germundsson.

This video was a little bit crazy. So I had a new beer being released on Monday, April 1st, 2014. On Friday I get a call from Kristoffer Gezelius with Ro-Ki. This was an extremely bitter, double dry hop. Sort of like a hazy New England IPA but in 2014 that style didn’t exist in Sweden. So Kristoffer says ‘Don’t you have a new beer Monday, we should do something for promotion’ and I say ‘Is there time?’ And he says’ I can do a quick video, just send me a pdf of the label’ and thus was born this unusual video.  Notice that is actually Kristoffer’s voice slightly twisted and he made the music with an app on his phone. I think the irony of the dry humor was lost on a lot of people.

A short promo for the 2016 Hoppapalooza festival. Created in 2016 using footage from the 2015 Hoppapalooza by Ro-ki under the directing duo Kristoffer Gezelius and Alexander Germundsson. You can see Kristoffer at the 4 second mark with a beer glass to his mouth and at eight seconds my son Lucas with a shaved head eating corn on the cob.

April 21st, 2014. Brewing batch #6 of the IPA.  At that time we used a 900-liter transport tank. Since 2017 we have been brewing 2500 liter tanks. The next batch to be brewed of the IPA is # 37

Literally the very first day we opened South Plains Brewing Company at Norbergsgatan 24 in Malmö Sweden. This film was created by Thomas Fransson on July 1st, 2012 when he was still running Sverige Brygg Radio.

A podcast by Michael Potorti, Host of “Craft Beer Storm” and also the founder of Beara Brewing Co. of Portsmouth, New Hampshire USA.

I love this beer critic. David Dowling aka TUVAR reviews my Russian Imperial Porter on March 4th, 2013. I love his face at the four-minute mark. But my favorite part is when he burps at 6:27 mark.

After the Porter review, I sent him a bottle of APA as a gift with a t-shirt to David Dowling aka TUVAR. Again, he did an excellent review although he got most of the facts wrong about us.

In 2012 my wife Sacha and a young Jakob Thomsgård (now a professor at Bryggeriteknikutbildningen Kristianstad  University) & young Dan Homer (later started Limhamn Bryggeri) would sit around and label bottles by hand. Sometimes up to 8000 bottles a month. Jakob thought it was ‘rather peaceful’ but my wife Sacha was having a hard time with it. So in 2013 we bought the S1/Z labeling machine from S.T.S. Di Savino Vincenzojust outside Milan Italy. It could label 1200 bottles an hour and was exactly what we needed.  In this first video, my children are enjoying labeling.

Another crazy last-minute promotional video by Ro-Ki where days before the Aug 2016 Hoppapalooza, Kristoffer Gezelius, and Alexander Germundsson put together this video. They had no time to come with the camera so they called me, said ‘set up a table in the parking lot, open a beer, play cassette tapes with names of bands playing and have a blank computer screen there and we can dub in the rest, and just do some shots on your phone’. This is what we ended up with.

Jeffrey Scott Brown, CEO of South Plains Brewing Company and also the founder of Hoppapalooza craft beer festival explains what Hoppapalooza is.

Our very first promotional video ever. Created in 2013 by Ro-ki under the directing duo Kristoffer Gezelius and Alexander Germundsson, reminds of when we started, we were ½ brewery-½ homebrewer. Bit of a silly ending.
